I do get disappointed with myself at times. Of late, I’ve had several projects up in the air and despite my best efforts, they don’t want to move forward.
What’s irking me most is that I continue to attach myself to specific outcomes despite knowing it’s a fool’s game. Nothing in life ever turns out the way we thought it might. Sometimes better, sometimes differently, but never exactly how we envisage them. So, by expecting specifics, we will always become disenchanted.
Of course, that doesn’t mean we should sit on our hands. Promoting, pushing and perfecting (the three Ps) are always imperative to keeping yourself relevant. But this should never end in expectation. Especially specific ones. There’s disappointment in them there hills, and in that, I’ve let myself down of late.
Creation is a goal in itself. What will happen to that creation is where the Gods step in. Yes, use the 3Ps, but know when to step away and leave our project/s to mature organically. And whatever we do, try your best to leave your expectations and ego at the door.
We’ll know soon enough why something took time to come to fruition, if at all. Let’s not test the Gods, but more astonish them by simply playing our part, then stepping away.
